2007 Failed Twilight (2)

More character sketches.  I think my favourite part of this silly sketch is the woman who makes that guy eat something asking him, "Yummy?" with him saying "Ye- yeah" but really thinking "NO."  That's really the only reason I scanned this thing in the first place. (^^;

It was supposed to be an awesome comic with a klutzy train conductor, a cat-human, and talking fish that walked on their fins out of the water.

But it failed because the characters failed me.  My drawing skills were not up to the task as well.

Tomorrow's entry will feature the pages I drew for the comic in pencil.  I never got a chance to ink them before I failed.  After I finally get those up, maybe I'll scan some of my other failed comics that I had to drop because of problems with pacing and long-winded story lines that were utterly boring and nonsensical.

The train conducter.

His face is just too darn adorable. (have you seen Night On the Galactic Railroad?)

Also, I love how totally... arrogant Gilles and Sylvie look. They are like that one pretty boy you posted earlier: "We are so, so pretty and we KNOW we are so, so pretty ohohohohohoh *SMILE*"
Maybe they are just wraped up in their own adventures.

Even though they are 'failed', I can't wait to see the comic pages.

I haven't seen Night on the Galactic Railroad, but I have read the original story in Japanese by Miyazawa Kenji. He's writing style is... well, it seems very magical, but sometimes I wonder if it has to do with the fact that Japanese is not my first language.

I love the train conducter too. I need to revive him for some story in the future! Like the adventure with the conducter! Like a fairy tale- featuring Mr. Silly, Nervous Conducter!!!

You're right! I suppose that they are arrogant. I think that was missing from the comic I had tried to draw. It really didn't seem like them. Anyway, Gilles and Sylvie- they are weird! And lead a weird, but perhaps sad?, lifestyle.
